The workshop Urban Citizenship in Practice is about how to strive for more inclusive civic initiatives. Starting from the strengths and challenges of the group, we will use the methodology ‘holding spaces’ to learn to systematically free up space for people’s own initiatives, including those whose voices, stories and potential are (too) rarely heard or taken into account. Together with the inhabitants of Brussels, Citizenne sets up projects and activities with daily life (together) as the starting point. We strengthen people, awaken their engagement and stimulate citizenship in Brussels. Together with the inhabitants of Brussels, Citizenne builds a sustainable and learning city where everyone is welcome and where people connect. The workshop is organized in two parts, a morning session and an afternoon session.
