Brussels2030 Summer Assembly 2023
Walk & Performance, Friday 30-06
14.00 – 17.00
2030 by foot (WALK)
🚩 Les Halles (departure)
A cultural capital is best discovered on foot. In 2030, Brussels must be an exemplary capital in terms of walkability. The city must be accessible, and it must be pleasant and safe to move around on foot. This is why walk is proposing an exploratory walk to analyse the walkability of a route and to find, together, the points of attention and improvements for pedestrians.

How can the cultural sector remove barriers so that everyone can participate in cultural life, both as an audience and as creators? And what opportunities are there for artists who want to commit to inclusion, or set up a co-creation process with vulnerable people with and without disabilities? On 30 June, we will screen ‘A Way to B’, a documentary about the Catalan dance group Liant la Troca. In it, we follow Xavi, Dessi, Joan and the other members of the company. Each has a physical disability, each handles life and work confidently. As a viewer, you thus get a glimpse under the surface of disability, with sensual choreography and the visible pleasure dancers get out of their bodies. A conversation will follow the film, reflecting on giving space to voices that are too little heard and the accessibility of art for all.
